The invention concerns a floor-cloth-type covering for cleaning floors, said covering comprising a wiping material layer (8) with pile threads (9) projecting from the latter in the direction of the surface to be cleaned, and means (3) for securing to a carrier. At least one layer (11) of non-woven material is provided, forming edges (10) projecting beyond the wiping material layer (8).
