The floor covering for tennis courts is particularly suited for unroofed outdoor courts, but also for sports halls. It comprises a foundation layer and, thereabove, a top-dressed layer consisting of broken material like pebble stones or the like. The top-dressed layer is provided with a water-pervious support layer consisting of loosely bound rubber granule par- ticles. Finally, the support layer is provided with a textile floor covering consisting of synthetic fibres with inhomogenous surface structure. The textile layer is bonded to the support layer at predetermined portions over its whole size, but not with its entire surface, to enable water collected on its sur- face to escape through the textile layer, through the support layer and through the foundation layer into the drainage.
