ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The covering of the invention is installed on a concrete floor surface under an animal susceptible to contact a grounded, electrically conductive structure, stray current flowing through the floor and/or structure. A metallic mesh is first applied to the floor surface. Electrically conductive wires are then used to interconnect the metallic mesh and the structure susceptible to be contacted by the animal. A rubber mat is finally placed over the metallic mesh. Of course, the urine of the animal and/or liquid manure establish an electrical connection between the top surface of the rubber mat and the metallic mesh. As the interconnected mesh and structure are equipotential, no stray current can flow through the animal when it contacts the structure.
