ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A floor drain assembly comprises in combination an integrally cast floor drain housing and a floor drain grate mounted on a threaded tubular shank. The housing has a circular upper portion and a reduced tail portion. An annular ledge projects radially inwardly from the upper portion and a cast projecting thread portion is provided on the inner face of the annular ledge. The cast thread is adapted to co-operate with the threaded tubular shank.
