A floor drain, comprising at least a drain channel (1), a cover (3), a fixing means for the releasable connection of the cover (3) and the drain channel (1), wherein the fixing means comprises a latch (7) connected with the cover (3) and moveable with respect to the cover (3), and an element connected with the drain channel (1), wherein the latch (7) is adapted to come into releasable connection with the element connected with the drain channel (1), and a method for installing or de- installing a floor drain according to one of the claims 1 to 13.
