ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A floor mat comprises substantially rigid, elongated, rails disposed generally parallel to each other in closely spaced relation. Each rail has a base portion for supporting the mat and a top portion with a tread surface such as a strip of carpet, abrasive or vinyl thereon. Cooperative ball and socket structures along opposite sides of the rails fixedly space the rails from each other but permit rotational movement of the rails relative to each other whereby the floor mat may be rolled up or adjust itself to irregular floor surfaces. -1-
