22,356 Abstract of the Disclosure A floor panel for a raised floor system includes a substantially flat rectangular top plate and a rectangular formed bottom member. The bottom member includes three groups of box beams and a number of support regions. Members of the first group of box beams run parallel to and in close proximity to each edge of the bottom member and intersect each other near the corners of the bottom member. Second and third groups of box beams run at an angle to each other across the bottom member at an angle of 45 degrees with the edges of the bottom member and intersect each other and the first group of box beams. The box beams are operative to transmit applied stress to the corners of the floor panel. Support regions are relatively uniformly distributed over the area of the floor panel. A preferred method of fastening the bottom member to the top plate includes coating the support regions of the bottom member with a heat curable struc- tural adhesive, spotwelding the two pieces together at several points, and heating the assembly until the structural adhesive is cured.
