ABSTRACT A jacket for a floppy disk. The jacket consists of a fleeced material having a thermally smoothed, tear-resistant, porous exterior surface and a soft, fibrous inner surface. This construction avoids the use of PVC film whilst being simple to produce and temperature resistant to above 80°C and also features high porosity so as to ensure improved moisture exchange. In addition, the jacket can be imprinted and written upon using conventional materials and processes. The favourable characteristics of PVC foil such as durability, flexibility, wear resistance, weldability and thickness, are maintained to a great extent whilst retaining a fleece material as the inner lining of the jacket.
