A method for reducing shock during a flow of fluid between a higher pressure vessel and a lower pressure vessel. The method includes the steps of providing a conduit between the higher pressure vessel and the lower pressure vessel, and minimizing a rate of pressure change within the second vessel caused by the flow of fluid along the conduit from the higher pressure vessel. The minimizing step includes controlling a rate of flow of fluid between the first vessel and the second vessel over a predetermined duration.

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé servant à réduire les à coups dans un écoulement de fluide entre un récipient sous pression supérieure et un récipient sous pression inférieure. Ce procédé consiste à prévoir un conduit entre le récipient sous pression supérieure et le récipient sous pression inférieure, à réduire au minimum dans le second récipient la vitesse de la variation de pression causée par l'écoulement du fluide le long du conduit depuis le récipient sous pression supérieure. Cette étape de réduction au minimum de la vitesse de variation de pression consiste à réguler le débit de fluide entre le premier récipient et le second récipient sur un période prédéterminée.
