A detector for detecting fluid flow irreversibility is disclosed herein. The detector uses a spatial velocity field to determine the entropy production distribution of the flow, and generates a loss coefficient distribution on the basis the determined entropy distribution.

L'invention concerne un détecteur permettant de détecter l'irréversibilité d'un courant. Ledit détecteur fait appel à un champ de vélocité spatiale pour déterminer la répartition de la production d'entropie dans le flux et produit une répartition du coefficient de perte sur la base de la répartition d'entropie déterminée.
