ABSTRACT In a flow regulator there is a diaphragm (9) between an inlet pressure chamber (17) and an outlet pressure chamber (18). The outlet pressure chamber (18) is bounded by a dished abutment wall (12) in which there is provided at least one radial groove (14) connected at the radially outer end to the inlet side. The central region (20) of the diaphragm (9) is biassed by a spring (21). This permits the characteristic curve of the regulator to be set over a larger range and more accurately than hitherto.
