The present invention relates to a diagnostic test for detecting a human influenza A and B antigen in a clinical specimen. The antigen is detected by determining the presence of antibodies specific for influenza A or B. Antibody A and B are conjugated to a characteristic enzyme and, if antigen is present, the enzyme reacts with one or more substrates to produce a detectable reaction product.
