2098491 9211481 PCTABS00014 A fluid control valve (10) which has a deformable valve member (12) which has a first portion (14A) with a fluid passageway (18) therethrough, a second portion (14B) which serves to add resiliency to the valve and, on the valve base portion (16) of the valve, an air inlet channel (56). The fluid passageway (18) is closed by a pressure-exerting member (34). Initial actuation of the valve by pressure on an actuator assembly (32) compresses a spring (46) which moves the pressure-exerting member (34) away from the deformable valve member (10), thus allowing the fluid passageway (18) to open. In a second embodiment of the invention, the fluid passageway deformable valve member remains open until pressed closed by actuation.
