A quick connect-disconnect fluid coupling assembly having cylindrical outer and inner coupling members (13, 84; 12, 82, 83), one of which is connected to a conduit and the other to a fluid conveying system. The assembly is accomplished by inserting a U-shaped locking member (14) having a bight (52) and two parallel legs (53, 54) into the outer member (13, 84), which has a peripheral slot (44) receiving the bight so that the curved portion (55) thereof does not extend beyond the periphery. Openings (50, 51) in this member (13, 84) receive the legs (53, 54), which are then locked around grooves (18) in the inner member (12; 82, 83) and the ends (73, 74) of the legs do not extend beyond the periphery of the outer member (13, 84). The outer portion (59) of the bight (52) is thinner than the inner portion (62) to permit easy insertion into, and withdrawal from, the slot (44) of the outer member. The system may also be utilized in an assembly of three or more components, wherein two or more locking members (14) are used.
L'invention concerne un raccord rapide pour fluides pourvu d'éléments de couplage cylindriques externes et internes (13, 84; 12, 82, 83) dont un est relié à une conduite et l'autre à un système d'acheminement de fluides. On effectue l'assemblage en insérant un élément en U (14) possédant une anse (52) ainsi que deux bras parallèles (53, 54) dans l'élément externe (13, 84) qui comporte une fente périphérique (44) destinée à accueillir l'anse de manière à ce que sa partie incurvée (55) ne sorte pas au-delà de la périphérie. Des orifices (50, 51) faits dans cet élément (13, 84) reçoivent les bras (53, 54) qui sont ensuite verrouillés autour des rainures (18) dans l'élément interne (12; 82, 83). Les extrémités (73, 74) des bras ne sortent pas au-delà de la périphérie de l'élément externe (13, 84). La partie externe (59) de l'anse (52) est de moindre épaisseur que sa partie interne (62), ce qui permet de l'insérer aisément dans la fente (44) de l'élément externe et de la retirer de cette fente. On peut également utiliser ce système en combinaison avec trois ou plusieurs composants, et ce au moyen de deux ou plusieurs éléments de verrouillage (14).
