A system for the metering and delivery of small discrete volumes of liquid, comprised of a minimal number of inexpensive components. Fluid (103) is moved rrom a resrvoir (102) through a displacement chamber (104) by movement of a plunger (112). The plunger (112) is moved from a first limit (105) to a second limit (106) by an acuator comprised of a shape memory alloy (114) ans biasing spring (115). Electrical current is supplied to the shape memory alloy (114) by a control circuit (116) that cycles the movement of the plunger (112).
L'invention concerne un système de mesure et d'administration de petits volumes discrets de liquide qui est constitué d'un petit nombre ou d'un nombre minimal de composants bon marcher. Un de ces composant constitue un élément mobile, tel qu'une tête de pompe miniature de précision à déplacement alternatif actionnée par un dispositif d'actionnement qui contient une matière d'alliage à mémoire de forme. Le mécanisme de fonctionnement du système présente peu voire très peu de complexité. Ce système permet de faciliter la mesure précise et l'administration de petits volumes discrets de liquide. Parmi les applications possibles de ce système, on répertorie, notamment, l'administration de médicament automatisée, dans le long terme, sous-cutanée, par exemple, l'administration d'insuline à une personne souffrant de diabète. Dans une telle application, les caractéristiques de moindre coût, de petite taille et de simplicité du système permettent de l'utiliser comme un système portable et jetable.
