90310-6/LEH/fs Abstract of the Disclosure A fluid dispenser for dispensing a fluid, such as soap, from a flexible dispenser compartment of a fluid dispenser pouch of the type having a discharge passage that extends along a tortuous path. The dispenser has a dispenser mechanism in the dispenser station, comprising a backstop on one side of the dispenser path and a cam having a downwardly and rearwardly curved cam face confronting the backstop and located on the other side of the dispenser path. The backstop cooperates with the cam to expel a measured amount of fluid from the dispenser compartment. A cam actuating hollow pushbutton is provided, which pushbutton partially accommodates the cam within a front opening of the pushbutton. Upper and lower guide slots are provided in each of two side faces of the pushbutton and receive and guide, upper and lower laterally extending pins on the cam. A spring is provided within the pushbutton between a rear internal face thereof and a rear face of the cam. The pushbutton is operable to effect relative movement between the cam face and the backstop. This relative movement initially temporarily seals the dispenser compartment at its upper end and further pushbutton action causes the fluid trapped in the dispenser compartment to be expelled.
