ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A device preventing thermal stratification in a supply pipe is disclosed. Cold water introduced with a low flow rate into a duct filled with hot water circulates in the bottom thereof and accumulates at its end. It is only discharged at the end of the distributor where its pressure is highest. The immiscible hot water is located elsewhere and high thermal stresses appear on the distributor at the interface between two layers. The distributing tubes or the actual duct are provided with cuts favouring the upstream flow. This device is very suitable for steam generators of nuclear power plants.
