ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fluid-filled mattress. There is a cover Member including upper and lower side walls, side walls and end walls. I-shaped ribs are interposed between the upper and lower walls of the cover. Each of the ribs has a vertical web and upper and lower flaps integral with the upper and lower ends of -the web. An integral bead extends vertically away from the mid-portions of the flaps, aligned with the vertical web of each rib. The cover and ribs are flexible and of a fluid, adhesible material. The points of engagement of the flaps and the beads with the cover are adhered together by the application of vertical pressure to the upper and lower cover walls. This pressure depresses the material of the cover walls into tight compressive engagement with the beads of each rib flap. The mattress avoids the problem of failure of the connection between the rib and the cover material and between the outer ends of the ribs and the cover.
