ABSTRACT This invention relates to a heat exchanger located in a wall (20, 21) and comprising a plurality of channels A and B. The channels A and B are formed so that rotation thereof causes air to be pumped into the channels along a first communication way defined by the channels A for relatively hotter air and along a second communication way defined by the channels B for relatively cooler air in contra flow. Heat is transferred across channel separating walls (3). The inertial force of rotation acts on temperature induced local density variations within the respective channels to rapidly take heated or cooled air from the boundary layer of the walls (3) resulting in bulk mixing with air in the respective channels.
