A system for applying secondary fluids to vehicular exhaust after-treatment apparatus utilizes a mixing chamber coupled for receipt of a portion of the vehicle's exhaust flow. A source of secondary fluid is coupled to the mixing chamber and a fluid distribution element is positioned in a mean exhaust flow conduit upstream of the exhaust after-treatment apparatus. The fluid distribution element presents a preselected pattern of fluid flow toward an upstream face of the after-treatment apparatus.

L'invention concerne un système destiné à appliquer des fluides secondaires sur un appareil de post-traitement de gaz d'échappement de véhicule, utilisant une chambre de mélange couplée pour la réception d'une partie de l'écoulement des gaz d'échappement du véhicule. Une source de fluide secondaire est couplée à la chambre de mélange et un élément de distribution de fluide est positionné dans un conduit d'écoulement des gaz d'échappement médian an amont de l'appareil de post-traitement de gaz d'échappement. L'élément de distribution de fluide présente une configuration présélectionnée d'écoulement de fluide vers une face amont de l'appareil de post-traitement.
