A device for trapping all available light and organizing it into any given beam by means of an optical device which, by forcing a fluid to rotate in a suitably-shaped space (1) (revolution or non-revolution of a logarithmic spiral arc), enables a temperature gradient to be created, thus causing a refractive index gradient to be maintained in a fluid chosen for its ability to transmit or absorb part of the light flux according to the wavelength thereof. All the light may be concentrated and channeled in the desired direction while the heat energy not needed for visual projection is removed. A spotlight or still picture projector having excellent optical efficiency (no heat-absorbing glass) and unlimited power may thereby be obtained.

L'invention concerne un dispositif destiné à piéger toute la lumière disponible, de l'organiser en un faisceau prédéfini à volonté, grâce à un dispositif optique permettant, par rotation forcée d'un fluide dans un volume à la forme (1) appropriée (révolution ou non révolution d'un arc de spirale logarithmique), de créer un gradient thermique créant un gradient d'indice de réfraction entretenu dans un fluide choisi pour ses propriétés de transmission ou d'absorption d'une partie du flux lumineux en fonction de la longueur d'onde, de concentrer ainsi la totalité de la lumière et de la canaliser dans la direction désirée tout en évacuant l'énergie calorifique non utile à la projection visuelle. L'invention permet de créer un projecteur de lumière et d'images fixes dont le rendement optique est excellent (pas de verre anticalorique) et dont la puissance n'est pas limitée.
