A system for sterilizing or microbially deactivating instruments and devices. The system includes a circulation system for circulating a microbial deactivation fluid through a chamber for containing the instruments and devices. The chamber forms a portion of the circulation system. The system further includes a fluid over-flow/makeup air assembly. The fluid over- flow/make-up air assembly includes a manifold having an inner cavity that is in fluid communication with the circulation system, an overflow port in the manifold, and an overflow valve assembly disposed in the manifold allowing fluid flow from the cavity to the overflow port when a pressure in the cavity exceeds a pressure in the overflow port by a predetermined amount. A filter assembly is attached to the manifold. The filter assembly has a filter valve assembly in communication with the cavity. The filter assembly is operable to allow air through the filter assembly into the cavity when the pressure within the cavity is a predetermined amount less than the pressure within the filter assembly.

L'invention concerne un système de stérilisation d'instruments ou de dispositifs ou de neutralisation de l'activité microbienne sur ces instruments et dispositifs. Ledit système comporte un système de circulation qui fait circuler un fluide de neutralisation de l'activité microbienne à travers une chambre contenant lesdits instruments et dispositifs. Ladite chambre fait partie dudit système de circulation. Ledit système comporte en outre un ensemble trop-plein/air d'appoint, lequel ensemble comporte un collecteur doté d'une cavité interne en communication fluidique avec le système de circulation, un orifice de trop-plein dans le collecteur, un ensemble de soupapes de trop-plein placé dans le collecteur qui permet au fluide de s'écouler de la cavité vers l'orifice de trop-plein lorsque la pression dans ladite cavité dépasse celle dans l'orifice de trop-plein d'une valeur prédéterminée. Un ensemble filtre, fixé au collecteur, possède un ensemble filtre soupape qui communique avec la cavité. L'ensemble filtre fonctionne de manière à permettre à l'air de le traverser en direction de la cavité lorsque la pression dans celle-ci est inférieure d'une valeur prédéterminée à celle enregistrée dans l'ensemble filtre.
