ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure herein pertains to an improved and versatile fluid pump particularly suited for manual operation and fitting easily into a cylindrical well casing made of plastic material and in which a piston and a check valve, also made of plastic material, both have the same body structure so that the piston and the check valve may be used interchangeably by simply removing or adding minor components; these components include a plate valve adapted for sliding movement along a coupling rod integral with the body structure, sealing rings to provide adequate sealing and sliding contact with the internal wall of the well casing, and an adapter which is mounted to the lower part of the piston to form a check valve to secure it to the well casing.
