A B S T R A C T A fluid flow director assembly is disclosed which is adapted to receive first and second fluid-treating cartridges for fluid treatment by radial flow from the radially outer, axially extending surfaces thereof through the bodies of the cartridges to axially extending, inner core openings in the bodies defined by the radially inwardly facing surfaces thereof. The fluid is prevented from flowing into the inner opening in the first cartridge from one axial end thereof, and is prevented from flowing into the opening in the second cartridge from one axial end thereof. From the opening in the first cartridge the fluid is directed to an area lying outwardly of the radial- ly outer, axially extending surface of the second cartridge, whereby fluid flowing under pressure in an apparatus having the flow director assembly therein will flow radially inwardly through the first cartridge and thereafter radially inwardly through the second cartridge.
