A fluid vaporizing device (10) includes a capillary tube (20) made from an electrically conductive material, an upstream electrode (32) and a downstream electrode (34) connected to the tube (20). The downstream electrode (34) is provided with an electrical resistivity sufficient to cause heating of the downstream electrode during operation to approximately the same temperature as the tube at the point of connection. A source of material (12) to be volatilized is provided to the tube at the feed section (22), into the heated section (24) and is vaporized, and then exits from the tube through the tip (29). The temperature profile of the tube along the heated section (24) is controlled by varying parameters to substantially eliminate any effect of the downstream electrode (34) as a heat sink. These parameters may include the electrical resistivity of the downstream electrode (34), its cross-sectional area and its length.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) de vaporisation fluidique comprenant un tube capillaire (20) fait d'un matériau électroconducteur, une électrode (32) en amont et une électrode (34) en aval connectées au tube (20). L'électrode (34) en aval présente une résistivité suffisante lui permettant d'atteindre en cours de fonctionnement une température approximativement identique à celle du tube au niveau du point de connexion. Une source de matière (12) destinée à se volatiliser est injectée dans le tube au niveau de la section (22) d'alimentation dans la section (24) chauffée et est vaporisée, puis sort du tube à travers la pointe (29). Le profil thermique du tube le long de la section chauffée (24) est réglé par variation de paramètres afin d'éliminer sensiblement tout effet de l'électrode (34) en aval comme source de refroidissement. Ces paramètres peuvent comprendre la résistivité électrique de l'électrode (34) en aval, sa zone transversale et sa longueur.
