An apparatus and method are provided to verify the composition of a medical fluid in a fluid container. The verification is performed at a centralized location, where light is transmitted through the fluid and detected by a sensor that generates signals representative of the spectral data of the actual composition of the fluid. These signals are compared with the spectral data of an expected composition of the fluid. Based on the comparison, a label is generated that identifies the composition of the fluid and is affixed to the fluid container. The fluid container, with the verified fluid, is distributed to the point of care.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé permettant de vérifier la composition d'un fluide médical déposé dans un récipient à fluide. La vérification s'effectue dans une zone centralisée, où la lumière traverse le fluide et est détectée par un capteur qui génère des signaux représentatifs des données spectrales de la composition réelle du fluide. Ces signaux sont comparés aux données spectrales de la composition de fluide prévue. Suite à cette comparaison, une étiquette qui identifie la composition du fluide est générée et collée sur le récipient à fluide. Le récipient à fluide qui contient le fluide vérifié est ensuite donné au point d'intervention.
