ABSTRACT A sealing mechanism for passing a continuously formed board (10) from subatmospheric pressure to atmospheric pressure comprising lower and upper continuous belts (20, 40), sealing the major faces of the board and means for sealing the minor faces of the board. The belts and minor face sealing means are covered on the atmospheric pressure side by liquid in a reservoir (18) open to atmospheric pressure. Liquid seepage through the sealing arrangement is removed from the subatmospheric side. The minor face sealing means can comprise cams or an inflatable rotor engaging the minor faces. 32,759-F
