Abstract The invention relates to novel fluoran compounds of the general formula Image wherein R1 and R2, each independently of the other, are lower alkyl; or a pyrrolidinyl, piperidino, morpholino or A is Image piperazino radical; and R3 and R4, each independently of the other, are C1-C12 alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or phenyl substituted by lower alkyl or lower alkoxy. These compounds are particularly suitable for use as color formers in pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive recording materials.
