Fluorescent and chemiluminescent labelling compositions comprise a linear polysaccharide backbone molecule having a plurality of target-binding molecules, such as antibodies or nucleic acids, attached at spaced-apart intervals thereon. Each of the target-binding molecules, in turn, includes a multiplicity of fluorescent or chemiluminescent dye molecules bound thereto. In this way, signal introduced to a single target-site on a solid phase surface may be increased without loss of binding activity.

Compositions de marquage fluorescentes et chimio-luminescentes, constituées d'une molécule à squelette polysaccharide linéaire comportant une pluralité de molécules susceptibles de se lier aux cibles, telles qu'anticorps ou acides nucléiques, fixées à intervalles espacés. Chacune des molécules susceptibles de se lier aux cibles, à son tour, comporte une multiplicité de molécules colorantes fluorescentes ou chimio-luminescentes qui lui sont liées. De la sorte, le signal introduit sur un site de cible unique sur une surface en phase solide peut être accru sans perte de l'activité de liaison.
