A resonant fluorescent lamp ballast (10) includes an IC driver for a half- bridge arrangement (16) that supplies AC current to a lamp. The IC (34) creates a frequency sweep from a pre-heat frequency, through a resonant frequency, to a still lower operating frequency. The IC comprises a pre-heat pin (9) for restarting, a shut-down pin (8) for the internal shut-down, a pre- heat trigger circuitry (110) and a end-of-life circuitry (50). A DC current- supply path (90) is provided from a DC current supply, through at least one filament of each lamp in the load circuit, to a power-supply pin for the IC (34). The DC path (90) cooperates with the end-of-life circuitry (50) and the internal shut-down latch to reset the latch when the DC path (90) is broken due to absence of the at least one filament in the path.

Un trajet d'alimentation en courant continu (90) s'étend depuis une alimentation en courant continu, à travers au moins un filament de chaque lampe du circuit de charge, jusqu'à une broche d'alimentation électrique du circuit intégré (34). Ce trajet de courant continu (90) coopère avec le circuit de fin de fonctionnement (50) et le verrou d'arrêt interne servant à remettre le verrou à l'état initial quand le trajet de courant continu (90) est interrompu sous l'effet de l'absence d'au moins un filament dans le trajet.
