CASE 2917 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE FLUORESCENT LAMP CIRCUIT A lighting arrangement for operating a rapid start fluorescent lamp system having one or more pairs of operating lamps with one or both lamps in each pair operating to give two levels of illumination. The lamps in each pair are connected in parallel with one another or in series. When they are connected in parallel they are placed across a reduced voltage, for example across the secondary winding portion only of a ballast transformer. When they are connected in series they axe placed across at least the secondary and primary winding portions of the ballast transformer for a higher voltage.
