A mercury vapor discharge fluorescent lamp (10) is provided having a single composite phosphor-containing layer (14). The composite layer (14) contains both a heterogeneous mixture of halophosphors (32), rare earth triphosphors (34) and colloidal alumina particles (36). The coating weight and relative proportion of halophosphors (32) to triphosphors (34) are both tunable to obtain a lamp having specific performance characteristics suitable to a particular application. The colloidal alumina particles (36) contained in the composite layer (14) eliminate the need for a separately applied alumina layer as is conventional in the prior art.
L'invention concerne une lampe fluorescente à décharge de vapeur de mercure (10) dotée d'une seule couche composite (14) contenant du phosphore. La couche composite (14) contient un mélange hétérogène d'halophosphores (32), de triphosphores de terres rares (34) et des particules d'alumine colloïdales (36). Le poids de revêtement et la proportion relative d'halophoshores (32) par rapport aux triphosphores (34) sont ajustables pour obtenir une lampe présentant des caractéristiques de performance spécifiques, appropriées à une application particulière. Les particules d'alumine colloïdales (36) contenues dans la couche composite (14) évitent d'avoir à utiliser une couche d'alumine appliquée séparément, comme c'est le cas habituellement.
