ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An integral self-contained fluorescent lamp unit has an elongated fluorescent lamp positioned against an elongated housing member. The housing member includes two wing portions extending outwardly along the housing member length. Two elongated ballast resistors, one embedded in each wing portion, are connected to ballast the lamp. Heat from the ballast resistors is dissipated by the wing portions.
