ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is an apparatus for lighting with fluorescent tubes which may be used in two ways, i.e. attached to a wall or ceiling or, in inverted position, to an industrial shade. The apparatus comprises a U-shaped plastic strip open at both ends, the strip having a plurality of elongated contacts secured in its sides. The ends of the strip are adapted to receive starter holders, lamp holders and end covers. The strip in upright position is adapted for fixing and connection to mini- racks secured to a ceiling, the miniracks being connected to an electrical supply and having spring biased contacts cooperable with the strip contacts. The strip in inverted position is adapted for support on an industrial shade with electrical connection to the strip contacts being via wires passing through holes in the end covers.
