A whitening pigment comprising the reaction product of (a) a melamine- formaldehyde and/or a melamine-urea polycondensation product and (b) a water- soluble fluorescent whitening agent of the formula (1), wherein each of the two R1 groups, independent of the other, represents a C1-C6alkyl or C1-C4alkyl- O-C1-C4alkyl residue, which is substituted by one or two -CONH2, -CONHC1- C4alkyl, -COOH, -SO2NH2, -SO2NHC1-C4alkyl or -NH2 groups, each of the two R2 groups, independent of the other, represents hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C2- C4hydroxyalkyl or C1-C4alkoxyC1-C4alkyl, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen atom complete a piperazine ring, each of the two X1 groups, independently, represent -OH, -OC1-C4alkyl, -Oaryl or the group -NR3R4, wherein R3 and R4 each, independently, represent hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C2- C4hydroxyalky, C1-C4alkoxyC1-C4alkyl, a phenyl, phenyl mono- or disulphonic acid residue or, R3 and R4, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, complete a morpholino, piperidino or pyrrolidino ring or, alternatively, X1 represents an amino acid residue from which a hydrogen atom has been abstracted from the amino group and M is hydrogen, an alkaline or alkaline earth metal ion, ammonium, mono- di-, tri- or tetra~-substituted C1- C4alkylammonium or C2-C4hydroxyalkylammonium or mixtures thereof, a process for preparation of the pigments and the use thereof for the fluorescent whitening of paper.
L'invention porte sur un pigment de blanchiment qui comprend le produit de la réaction de (a) un produit de polycondensation de mélamine-formaldéhyde et/ou de mélamine-urée, et (b) un agent de blanchiment fluorescent hydrosoluble de la formule (1), dans laquelle chacun des deux groupes R¿1?, indépendants l'un de l'autre, représente un résidu de C¿1?-C¿6? alkyle ou de C¿1?-C¿4?alkyl-O-C¿1?-C¿4?alkyle, qui est substitué par un ou deux groupes -CONH¿2?, -CONHC¿1?-C¿4?alkyle, -COOH, -SO¿2?NH¿2?, -SO¿2?NHC¿1?-C¿4?alkyle ou -NH¿2?, chacun des deux groupes R¿2?, indépendant de l'autre, représente un hydrogène, un C¿1?-C¿4?alkyle, un C¿2?-C¿4?hydroxyalkyle ou un C¿1?-C¿4?alcoxyC¿1?-C¿4?alkyle, ou R¿1? et R¿2? avec l'atome d'azote forment un noyau pipérazine, chacun des deux groupes X¿1?, indépendamment, représente -OH, -OC¿1?-C¿4?alkyle, -Oaryle ou le groupe -NR¿3?R¿4?, dans lequel R¿3? et R¿4? représentent, chacun indépendamment, un hydrogène, un C¿1?-C¿4?alkyle, un C¿2?-C¿4?hydroxyalky, un C¿1?-C¿4?alcoxyC¿1?-C¿4?alkyle, un phényle, un résidu d'acide mono ou disulfonique phényle ou R¿3? et R¿4?, avec l'atome d'azote auquel ils sont attachés, forment un noyau morpholino, piperidino ou pyrrolidino ou, dans un autre mode de réalisation, X¿1? représente un résidu d'acide aminé dans lequel un atome d'hydrogène a été soustrait du groupe amino et M est un hydrogène, un ion de métal alcalin ou de métal alcalino-terreux, est ammonium, C¿1?-C¿4?alkylammonium ou C¿2?-C¿4?hydroxyalkylammonium mono- di-, tri- ou tétra-substitué ou des mélanges de ces derniers, sur un procédé de préparation desdits pigments et sur l'utilisation des pigments de l'invention dans le blanchiment fluorescent du papier.
