It is a means of applying fluoride between the teeth (contact points) when flossing the teeth . There is an extremely high rate of decay that develops at exactly this point, and there is no other way possible to introduce fluoride to this area. Fluoride has been clinically proven to reduce and arrest dental decay. This invention relates to dental floss, tape or ribbon for cleaning between the teeth and slightly under the gums. Regular dental floss mechanically removes plaque from between the teeth, but does not deliver fluoride directly to the contact points between the teeth. (B) This disadvantage may be overcome by impregnating, coating or saturating the dental floss, tape or ribbon (A) with decay inhibiting fluoride. This application of fluoride at the contact point (B) will prevent initial decay and stop or slow down initiating decay at the enamel (D) between the teeth with normal flossing usage.
