The invention concerns the synthesis of novel fluorinated elastomers having very low glass transition temperatures, good resistance to bases, oil and fuels and suitable properties in use. Said elastomers contain, for example. 90 to 50 mol % of vinylidene fluorides (VDF) and 10 to 50 mol % of perfluoro vinyl ether (PMVE). In that particular case, they are prepared by free radical copolymerisation of VDF and PMVE in the presence of organic initiators such as for example peroxides, peresters or diazonium compounds.

La présente invention décrit la synthèse de nouveaux élastomères fluorés présentant de très basses températures de transition vitreuse, une bonne résistance aux bases, au pétrole et aux carburants et de bonnes propriétés de mise en oeuvre. Ces élastomères contiennent, à titre d'exemple, de 90 à 50 % en moles de fluorure de vinylidène (VDF) et de 10 à 50 % en moles de perfluorométhyl vinyl éther (PMVE). Dans ce cas précis, ils sont préparés par copolymérisation radicalaire du VDF et du PMVE en présence de différents amorceurs organiques comme par exemple des peroxydes, des peresters ou des diazoïques.
