70065-8 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a novel fluorine-containing polymerizable compound of the formula (I): Image (I) [wherein R4 represents hydrogen or methyl; R1, R2 and R3 independently represent hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms; x represents an integer of 0 to 100; and n represents an integer of 1 to 1000], wherein the mono- or poly-oxyalkylene group of the formula: Image has at least one fluorine-substituted hydrocarbon group with 2 to 30 carbon atoms having at least 3 fluorine atoms graft-bonded thereto per molecule. The polymerizable compound can be polymerized to a polymer which is useful, among others, for producing a contact lens.
