This invention provides an improved method of leaching precious and base metal values from ore comprising contacting a metal-bearing ore or ore concentrate with an oxidizing gas solution comprising a solution of an oxidizing gas dissolved in a perfluorinated liquid, said contact being made prior to or during extraction of the precious or base metal from the ore. In another aspect, this invention provides a method of destroying cyanide from a cyanide- containing solution comprising contacting said solution with a solution of an oxidizing gas dissolved in a perfluorinated liquid.
Cette invention a trait à un procédé amélioré d'extraction par lixiviation de métaux précieux et usuels à partir de minerai consistant à mettre en contact un minerai recelant un métal ou un concentré de minerai avec une solution oxydante à base de gaz comportant une solution d'un gaz oxydant dissous dans un liquide perfluoré, cette mise en contact étant faite avant l'extraction du métal précieux ou usuel du minerai. Un autre aspect de l'invention concerne un procédé de destruction du cyanure dans une solution en contenant qui consiste à mettre cette solution en contact avec un gaz oxydant dissous dans un liquide perfluoré.
