Fluorogenic substrates susceptible of fluorescence emission and photosensitisation by enzyme transformation suitable for diagnosis and photodynamic treatment of tumours, consisting of fluorescent substances with photosensitisation activity, chemically modified with a group quenching the fluorescence and photosensitisation properties, the said quencher group being removable by the cell enzyme activity with restoration of the properties of fluorescence and photosensitisation activity of the original substance.
