-8- A flying toy which includes a spirally grooved launching bar, a driving member slidably sleeved onto the launching bar, and a flying wheel sleeved onto the launching bar and driven by the driving member along a spiral way on the launching bar into the air. The flying wheel has ribs which cause a downward flow of air to keep the flying wheel flying in the air when the flying wheel is driven out of the launching bar.
