6446-438 ABSTRACT A frequency modulation (FM) demodulator has a limiter for converting an input signal into a rectangular signal, first and second pulse generators and a low pass filter. The first pulse generator is responsive to the transition points of the rectan- gular signal for generating a first pulse train having first and a second states for the period of the rectangular signal. The first state has a predetermined period of time. The second pulse generator generates a second pulse train having third and fourth states for the period of the rectangular signal, the duration of the third state being reduced by a predetermined time length based on the duration of the second state of the first pulse train. The low-pass filter integrates the second pulse train to provide a demodulated signal. The demodulator has improved demodulation sensitivity and is suitable for monolithic integration.
