The present invention relates to a coating agent for solid or non-aqueous compositions, which is made from foam components comprising matrix of a polymeric material, the coating being stable upon contact with air but unstable upon contact with water. The invention also relates to compositions enclosed or partially enclosed by this coating, such as cleaning compositions, pharmaceutical compositions, personal care compositions and fabric care compositions.
