Disclosed is a foam control composition comprising an organosiloxane in a liquid organic diluent. The foam control composition is characterized in that it contains at least 0.1 weight % of the organosiloxane and the organosiloxane has a weight-average molecular weight of at least 1,800,000 and a polydispersity of not more than 4. These materials are especially useful for restricting the formation of foam during the separation of gas from a mixture of crude oil and gas.
