The present invention relates to an improved foam laminate and a method for making the foam laminate. According to the inventive method, a first uncured polymer film layer is applied to a carrier sheet and heated to obtain a gelled polymer layer. A second uncured polymer film layer is applied on the surface of the gelled polymer layer and a polymer foam layer is then applied on the surface of the second uncured polymer film to form a multi-layer composite. The multi-layer composite is heated to fully cure and fuse the first and second polymer film layers with the polymer foam layer to obtain the foam laminate. The foam laminate resulting from the inventive method is characterized by improved physical properties. The method is an improvement over prior art methods in that it is easily performed, less time consuming and does not involve the use of adhesives or flame lamination techniques.
