Described is a composition, contained in disposable aerosol cans, for the production of cellular plastics, the composition being characterized in that the composition residue remaining in the can has a diisocyanate monomer concentration of less than preferably 5.0 % by wt. relative to the amount of residue in the emptied container. Since this concentration is reduced by a factor of aproximately 2, the residue is much less damaging to the environment than before. The composition contains in particular polymer MDI which can be produced from technical-grade MDI with an average number of functional groups per molecule of > 23 by separating off the diphenylmethanediisocyanates.
