A frame comer joint includes first and second frame rails (24, 26 or 26a or 26b or 26c or 26d) having hollow interiors of predetermined contours and ends in mitered abutment. A corner key (32 or 32a or 32b or 32c or 32dl , 32d2) has legs inserted into the mitered ends of the frame rails. End portions of the legs substantially fill the hollow interiors of the frame rails forming a substantially closed cavity (58) within the frame rails and between the end portions of the corner key legs. Solidified resin foam (38) is disposed within this cavity rigidifying the corner joint, while the remainder of the interiors of the frame rails preferably is substantially free of solidified foam. At least one end portion of at least one leg of the corner key preferably has a flexible wall portion (46, 48 or 46a, 48a, or 46b, 48b or 46c, 48c or 48dl, 48d2) to permit escape of foam from within the cavity in the event of excess foam pressure. The hollow interiors of the frame rails preferably are mirror images of each other, and the legs of the corner key, including the end portions of the legs, preferably are mirror images of each other.
L'invention concerne un raccord d'angle d'armature qui comprend des premier et deuxième rails (24 ; 26, 26a, 26b, 26c ou 26d) d'armature présentant des intérieurs creux de contours prédéterminés et se termine par un appui en onglet. Une clavette d'angle (32, 32a, 32b, 32c ou 32d1 ; 32d2) comporte des pattes insérées dans les extrémités en onglet des rails d'armature. Des parties terminales des pattes remplissent sensiblement les intérieurs creux des rails d'armature, formant une cavité (58) sensiblement fermée à l'intérieur des rails d'armature et entre les parties terminales des pattes de la clavette d'angle. Une mousse (38) de résine solidifiée est disposée à l'intérieur de cette cavité, rigidifiant le raccord d'angle, tandis que le reste des intérieurs des rails d'armature est de préférence sensiblement exempt de mousse solidifiée. Au moins une partie terminale d'au moins une patte de la clavette d'angle présente de préférence une partie (46, 48 ou 46a, 48a ou 46b, 48b ou 46c, 48c ou 48d1, 48d2) de paroi souple afin de permettre l'échappement de la mousse de l'intérieur de la cavité en cas d'excès de pression de mousse. Les intérieurs creux des rails d'armature sont de préférence des images réfléchies l'un de l'autre et les pattes de la clavette d'angle, y compris les parties terminales des pattes, sont de préférence des images réfléchies l'une de l'autre.
