Thermoplastic vulcanizate blends, or a reaction product thereof, that include at least one propylene resin, at least one ethylene/alpha-olefin/non-conjugated diene elastomer, a curing system, and at least one co-agent may be formed into a foamed blend by the addition of a plurality of expandable polymeric microspheres. Methods of forming such foamed blends and resultant articles are also included. Compared to an equivalent non-foamed blend, such foamed blends are characterized by features that may include low thermal conductivity and decreased density in a closed cell structure with accompanying small cell size, good processability, and colorability.
L'invention concerne des mélanges de vulcanisats thermoplastiques, ou un produit de réaction de ceux-ci, qui comprennent au moins une résine de propylène, au moins un élastomère éthylène/alpha-oléfine/diène non-conjugué, un système de durcissement et au moins un coagent, pouvant être transformés en un mélange moussé par l'addition d'une pluralité de microsphères polymères expansibles. L'invention concerne également des procédés de formation de tels mélanges moussés et les articles résultants. Par comparaison avec un mélange non moussé équivalent, de tels mélanges moussés sont caractérisés par des particularités qui peuvent comprendre une faible conductivité thermique et une densité diminuée dans une structure à cellules fermées avec les propriétés accompagnantes de faible dimension de cellule, une bonne aptitude à la mise en AEuvre et une bonne aptitude à la coloration.
