ABSTRACT A composition of matter comprising the reaction product of a bitumen and a fatty oil, e.g., asphalt and castor oil, and a process of preparation therefor. The reaction product is combined with a polyhydroxy compound and a polyisocyanate, and allowed to react in the pre- sence of a blowing agent, such as water, to form a foamed polymeric material. A particularly suitable blowing agent comprises a mixture of dibutylphthalate and ethanol, the use of which obviates the necessity for a surfactant in the reaction mix.
