ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A foaming dentifrice containing a nonionic surface active agent. Foam is achieved through inclusion of about 1-10% by weight of a polyoxy- ethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymer in combination with about 0.5 - 7% by weight of xanthan or about 0.5 - 7% by weight of xanthan and up to about 5% by weight of resinous poly(ethylene oxide) in a dentifrice comprising about 20 - 80% by weight of a liquid humectant vehicle.
